HTTP
The protocol used to transmit and receive all data over the World Wide Web. When you type a URL into your browser, you're actually sending an HTTP request to a Web server for a page of information (that's why URLs all begin with "http://"). HTTP1.1, the latest version, is currently undergoing revisions to make it work more efficiently with TCP/IP
Advanced Network Monitor allows you to check any web server by creating a HTTP check.
The HTTP check requires entering Server address. It may be a domain name, URL or IP address. If you enter an IP address Advanced Network Monitor will try to resolve it.
Check the Follow Redirects if you want the ANM to follow the HTTP server redirections.
Also, if you want to use the https protocol you need to check the "Use SSL" option.
To check for the content of the web page received from the server you can set the Check Content rule. You may set that the page must not or cannot contain the lines defined in the rule. Also you need to specify all lines must be found in the web page or only any one.
If the web server is not accessible directly you need to set the parameters for a proxy server (a proxy server name, user name and password).
First, Advanced Network Monitor will try to connect to the specified web server. If the connection is established successfully Advanced Network Monitor tries to receive web content from the website and check it to meet the conditions you specified. If Advanced Network Monitor cannot download a web page or the web content of the page does not meet conditions you specified the server will mark it as "Error".
