Telnet

Advanced Network Monitor allows you to monitor Telnet servers.

You need to enter the following parameters:
  • Server address - Address of the Telnet server. It may be a domain name, URL or IP address. If you enter an IP address Advanced Network Monitor will try to resolve it.
  • Port - Port of the Telnet server. The default TCP/IP port for the Telnet protocol is port 23.

If the Telnet server requires authentication you need to check the "Server requires authentication" option and specify your user name and password.

First, Advanced Network Monitor tries to connect to the Telnet server. If a connection is established then the program tries to do a handshake. If "Server requires authentication" option is checked the program tries to logon to the Telnet server. If all the steps are completed successfully the server is marked as "Success", otherwise it is marked as "Error".
