SNMP MIB
Widely used network monitoring and control protocol defined in RFC-1157. SNMP is used to configure equipment, examine status and statistics and report problems using a remote management console.
You need to specify the following options:
Computer Address - Enter a server name in this field. It may be a domain name, URL or IP address. If you enter an IP address Advanced Network Monitor will try to resolve it.
TCP Port - Please enter a server port number in the field. You can choose one of the following standard ports in the drop-down list: POP3, SMTP, IMAP, HTTP, FTP, NNTP, Telnet, DHCP, Socks or enter any number.
SNMP Community - Enter the SNMP community string. The default value is 'public'.
SNMP OID - Enter the SNMP OID. SNMP OID is object identifier (OID) that is used to uniquely identify each object variable of a MIB (Management Information Base). You can enter a friendly name or numeric OID.
SNMP Value Type - Specify the OID value type.
Server is down if result value - Specify the following operand: Equal To, Not Equal To, Less Than, Greater Than. This operand is used to compare the actual SNMP value against the 'SNMP Variable Value'
Advanced Network Monitor tries to connect to the SNMP server and retrieve the value of the specified OID variable. If the OID value meets the condition you set then the server is marked as "Error", otherwise the server is marked as "Success".
