SNTP
Commercial organizations today rely on networks of computers, all of which have clocks that are the source of time for files or operations they handle.
Most of these organizations use a time server to ensure accurate time settings. The SNTP protocol is the protocol used to synchronize times between workstations and servers, and external time sources. Advanced Network Monitor uses the IP based SNTP protocol to check availability of internal and external time sources.
An SNTP check takes the following parameters:
Server Address- Host name or IP address of the time server.
You can adjust the local computer time to SNTP time. To do this check the "Adjust local computer time to SNTP time" option.
Advanced Network Monitor tries to connect to the SNTP server and receive the current time from it. If the program receives the correct time the server is marked as "Success", otherwise it is marked as "Error".
