Try to do the following steps:
  • Ensure that you are not removing the USB drive before the AFS is closed
  • Ensure that your USB Flash drive is working correctly
  • Try to make a screenshot and post it here
  • Try to find the *.elf file in the AFS folder (usually this is C:\Program Files\Advanced Flash Synchronizer\), zip it and send me by Email.
  • Also, send me the AFS.ini file from the flash drive that you are using with AFS

I have used Advanced Flash Synchronizer for years without problem.

But recently I find when I try to close the program (v. 1.7) I get the following error message:

"Stream write error."  (preceded by an impressive big X on a
red ground inside a circle).

Indeed the only way I can find to close the program is through the Task Manager (ctr-alt-del).

What is the problem here?  How can I AFS back to normal?

The PSC contains 2 components - the NT service that runs under the administrator account and the user interface part that communicates with the service via UDP socket.
You can querry the service from your application and parse results.

Send me the private message if you need more information.

We gone through your Personal SmartCheck from www.urltoy.com for retrieving hard disk manufacturer serial number. It was very interesting and we would like to get your product to implement with our software product for security purpose.

Kindly provide the following information for our technical clarifications for purchasing Personal SmartCheck.

Whether Personal SmartCheck available as a SDK or dll?

Whether Personal SmartCheck requires Administrator rights for Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows XP?

Whether Personal SmartCheck SDK or dll supports web applications(asp.net 2.0)?

Whether Personal SmartCheck SDK or dll requires any specific IIS related rights for web applications(asp.net 2..0)?

Awaiting for your prompt reply.

Regards,
Christopher S.
Software Engineer.

Windows XP x64
This is the reason that the PSC is not working on your system.
Our S.M.A.R.T. products does not support 64 bit systems. Sorry.

Please, describe, how does each drive connected (directly to the motherboard, external SATA controller, other).

Make the following steps:
  • Open the main PSC window
  • Select Professional from the View menu
  • Press F9 to initiate the drive polling
  • Select the SMART Details tab in the bottom part of the window
  • Select the UDP Log tab in the bottom right part of the window
  • Copy all the text from the UDP Log tab and send it to support@urltoy.com or post it here

Hi

I have just loaded PSC4.0 and it only shows a single SATA drive although I have 6 disks in the system as follows

1.  Mirrored RAID 1 - SATA 1 and 4 -  ST3750640AS  -  750 GB
2.  SATA 2 -  ST3750640AS - 750GB
3.  SATA 3 -  Westren Digital - 1 TB
4.  SATA 5  - ST3750640AS - 750GB
5   e-SATA 1 -   Westren Digital  -  2* 1 TB

PCS only sees the drive in SATA 5.  I have swapped the SATA 5 cable in turn with SATA 2 and 3 and it recognises the new disks but only 1 disk is monitored at any one i.e. the one connected to SATA 5.
